Oral Cancer Awareness: Playing Our Part

There are now more than 6500 new cases of mouth cancer each year in the UK – that’s 18 people diagnosed every day. The groups of people at risk of mouth cancer are more diverse than they have ever been and even with advances in treatment, without early detection only half will survive.

Almost three in four cases are spotted by a dentist and yet 60% of patients surveyed revealed they did not realise that their dentist checks for mouth cancer and other general health issues.
